what is embroidery?

Embroidery is the technique in which apparel, fabric or other materials are decorated with a needle and thread.

Able to both be done by hand or by machine, we use top of the line Melco industrial embroidery machines to embroider all of our products.

Our embroidery machine takes designs from an attached computer and sews them into caps to match the specifications of the design.

The process begins with the design being converted from typical computer image formats such as JPEGs or PDFs into an embroidery-specific digital format that maps out each individual stitch.

This process is known as digitising and incurs a setup cost. Once digitised, the file can be loaded into the embroidery machine on the computer attached to the embroidery machine. The garments are setup and attached to the machine and the thread colours are assigned.

Once this is all completed, the embroidery process can begin. The machine then begins to thread needles through each specified stitch on the digitised embroidery file.

Embroidery is perfect for many types of hats.

WHY CHOOSE EMBROIDERY?

The finish is sleek and professional, hard-wearing and durable.

A well done embroidered design is always great, giving off a good impression. It gives the professional look you require for your work uniforms, team shirts, school uniforms, etc. It also gives off a perception that it is high value and has been designed carefully. The thread used has sheen which really helps the colour stand out and catch people's eye.

WHAT IS HEAT TRANSFER?

Although it is considered a method of garment printing, it doesn't actually require printing at all (unless full colour designs are needed). Heat transfer vinyl can be as simple as a single colour logo, or a full colour realistic image. For single colour heat transfer vinyl printing, the process involves the vector design file being sent to the cutting machine, where it cuts the shape of the design into a two layer vinyl sheet, one layer being vinyl and the other being hard plastic which is used as a base and doesn't get cut into or applied to the garment. The negative space vinyl (the background/excess of the design, insides of letters, etc) can then be weeded out of the sheet. From there, the vinyl can then be heat pressed onto the garment and after a few seconds, the glue permanently sticks the vinyl to the shirt and your design comes to life!

WHY CHOOSE HEAT TRANSFER?

It is simple and can give high quality digital prints.

It is cost effective.

It is a great alternate when embroidery is not suitable.
